these two like (love) each other so much and they’re both so stubborn. i firmly believe oliver has been treated like a door mat in the past, and has developed ways to handle it and not let it happen again. and sometimes that means he closes people out way too fast, and maybe gets quick to anger in his hurt. and he wants to be with connor so badly, but he won’t let the other man think he can just do whatever he wants. he wants connor to get better. to show oliver that he actually means it, because otherwise it’s too scary. a whole slew of things could happen to connor and oliver wants him to realize that he is just as important. more important. than a job. and connor? connor is anxiety ridden and terrified because he lied. again. and he feels so bad and is probably dying to fess up because he hates having his ollie mad at him and he trusts oliver. oliver is already his rock and that in itself probably terrifies him.
